Should you lease, finance, or pay cash?.

Finance

Description
Purchase your vehicle and make payments for it over a selected term. At the end of that term, the vehicle is yours.
Pros

  • • At the end of your contract, you’ll own the car outright
  • • No mileage restrictions
  • • You have the ability to customize your vehicle as much as you want
  • • You can sell the car on your own terms


Cons
  • • You may have a higher monthly payment than a lease
  • • You’ll be responsible for post-warranty service and repair costs
  • • Any damage done to the vehicle will reduce the value of the vehicle when sold or traded in even if the vehicle is repaired
  • •If your vehicle is totaled and you still owe more than it's worth, your car insurance company will only pay you the vehicle's actual cash value, which is potentially much less than what you still owe


Lease

Description
Drive a new VW for a set amount of time and number of miles. You can choose to purchase or return the vehicle at the end.
Pros
• You may have a lower monthly payment than a finance contract
• With a shorter contract term, you get the chance to hop in a new VW more often
  • • Flexible lease terms and a range of mileage options available
  • • If you decide to lease or purchase a new VW at the end of your contract, we will waive the disposition fee
  • • No selling is involved
  • • The limited manufacturer’s warranty will cover the vehicle for the duration of most leases*
Cons
  • • You may need to pay for wear and use charges at the end of your term
  • • You have a mileage maximum and will be charged for extra miles driven
  • • If you decide to end your lease early, you will be responsible for early termination fees
  • • Insurance premiums are generally higher

Cash

Description
Purchase your vehicle up-front by paying in full with cash.
Pros
• Own your own vehicle
• Have no monthly payments
Cons
  • • You’ll be responsible for post-warranty service and repair costs
  • • Any damage done to the vehicle will reduce the value of the vehicle when sold or traded in even if the vehicle is repaired
